After much speculation and anticipation, it has been announced today that Kyle Loza (USA) and Jackson Strong (AUS) will headline the inaugural Crusty Demons Cup at the 2012 Formula 1™ Australian Grand Prix.

Crusty Demons World Touring, in association with the Australian Grand Prix Corporation are thrilled to welcome three-time X Games Best Trick gold medallist Kyle Loza and the 2011 X Games Best Trick gold medallist Jackson Strong to the 2012 event from 15-18 March.

In a world first, the two will go head-to-head in a massive FMX battle to take home a slice of the $50,000 prize pool and the honour of being crowned champion of the inaugural Crusty Demons Cup at the 2012 Formula 1™ Australian Grand Prix.

After many years of arena shows, the Crusty Demons have now devised a brand new competition format to be launched at the 2012 Formula 1™ Australian Grand Prix.

Australian Grand Prix Corporation CEO Andrew Westacott is excited about this new direction for post race entertainment at the 2012 event.

The Crusty Demons Cup will add four days of adrenaline-charged FMX action to an already action-packed schedule for fans. Add this to V8s, the Red Bull Race Off, music and all the glamour of F1 for the perfect weekend of entertainment,” he said.

While the exciting Jacko v Loza stoush is likely to dominate the interest of FMX fans and media, Crusty is assembling a line-up of some of the world’s best FMX riders to put their skills and bodies on the line over four days of the event.

The Crusty Demons Cup will culminate on Sunday 18 March after the Formula 1™ race where riders will compete in the Best Trick, Best Whip and Best Combo categories.

Famous for defying expectations and revolutionising the Best Trick category, superstar Kyle Loza has won three X Games Best Trick gold medals for his invention of the jaw-dropping “Volt” in 2007 and “Electric Doom” in 2008 and 2009.

Australia’s own Jackson Strong won his first X Games Best Trick gold medal in 2011 for successfully landing the death-defying front flip.  Having first performed with the Crusty Demons five years ago as a fifteen-year-old, Jacko has now developed into one of the very best FMX riders on the planet and is set to bring his own brand of FMX mayhem to the competition.

The Crusty Demons Cup is a fantastic initiative, it is great to see the sport evolving, here in Australia,” Strong said.

To be showcasing FMX at the Australian Grand Prix is a huge opportunity and personally I am really looking forward at going head-to-head with Kyle Loza in Best Trick.

To compete in a competition of this caliber we normally have to travel overseas so it is fantastic to now have our own annual event,” Strong concluded.

Super-talents Loza and Jacko will ensure that the inaugural Crusty Demons Cup at the 2012 Formula 1™ Australian Grand Prix will be one of the most highly anticipated action sports events of 2012.
