Defending Australian MX2 Champion Wilson Todd looked to the USA in an attempt to turn some heads in the AMA Motocross Championship. The break in the MX Nationals series offered Todd the perfect opportunity, so he packed his bags and entered against some of the fastest 250 riders in the world.

Round one went well for Todd, as he qualified sixth and finished 15-9 for 12th overall on a borrowed KTM250SX-F. Under powered against factory machines, he was impressive and earned the attention of the Troy Lee Designs Red Bull KTM team. This weekend will see the young Aussie lining up with the powerhouse squad.

“I’m so pumped,” Wilson told Dirt Action. “Not just that I get to ride a faster bike but to be around such a professional team to learn and get as much exposure as possible out of my trip. It didn’t come easy, they have two injured riders right now and Johnny McLean (Troy Lee Designs Australian distributor) and myself have been harassing the team since Sunday! It’s only today I got a call saying I can have the opportunity for this weekend.” Finished Todd.

With some impressive results at round one, we can’t wait to see what Wilson can do with a factory bike underneath him! Follow Wilson Todd on Instagram here
