PRODUCT REVIEW: ALLSPORT OH2 SPEED WRIST BRACE

Product Review Allsport Oh2 Speed Wrist Brace

Unfortunately way back in December, I had a weird little crash and suffered a wrist injury. A Scapholunate Dissociation, the type of injury you wish you had just broken your wrist; I had a cast for six weeks and moved on. My physio literally said those words. The injury has been hampering my life, especially as I wasn’t able to ride a bike for more than a few minutes without pain. I reached out to Shaun at Galls Bros Medical with my predicament and he recommended the Allsport OH2 Speed Wrist Brace. The OH2 features the newly designed variable extension control. This allows the wrist extension move from 0–60 degrees in 20-degree increments. I loosened the adjuster with the allen key and sat on my bike, moving the wrist to where I began to be in pain, and then limited my movement to before that moment. The bi-axial hinge allows side-movement of the wrist, which makes riding in the brace feel fairly natural. My first ride, I was hampered by the brace, way, way less than I was expecting. Sure, I could tell I was wearing it. But within about 10 minutes, I actually had increased confidence and less distraction as I was riding without pain. — Matt Bernard
