The Horsham Region in Western Victoria will once again welcome tons of motorcycling enthusiasts when the Horsham Motorcycle Club hosts the season opener of the 2016 MX Nationals on April 3.
With the MX Nationals returning to Horsham in 2016, after a successful round one was held in 2015, locals are already gearing up for the major boost to the economy, with the event set to inject local businesses with more than a quarter of a million dollars over the action packed weekend.
The Horsham Rural City Council and the Wimmera Region have a jam packed motorcycling calendar over the next couple of years, and has recognized the MX Nationals as one of the town’s major events, throwing their support behind the series once again.
Cr Heather Phillips, Mayor of Horsham Rural City Council is once again looking forward to welcoming back the MX Nationals to Horsham for Round One in 2016.
“Whether you are a participant, official, supporter or spectator of the 2016 National MX Championships, we sincerely welcome you and hope your visit is a memorable one,” said Cr Phillips.
With the first round of the 2016 championship setting the benchmark for the year, MX Nationals promoter Kevin Williams, said that with the support of the Horsham Rural City Council, the decision to host round one in Western Victoria once again was an easy one.
“Horsham Motorcycle Club is one of the most forward thinking clubs out there, and it’s a pleasure to have theirs and the council’s support of the series for 2016,” he said.
“The developments made to the club in the past few years have made it one of our top national venues, and they are more than deserving of hosting the opening round of the series, along with a great number of other major events over the coming years.
“With the support of the Horsham Rural City Council, we are looking forward to a successful partnership again this year, and can’t wait to kick start the series with the team on April 3.”
