In MX2 racing, the absence of Jeffrey Herlings saw Dylan Ferrandis sweep both motos ahead of Jeremy Seewer and Max Anstie. Overall victory came right down to the wire with Anstie placing huge pressure on Ferrandis before a late crash handed the Kawasaki rider both race and round victory.

It’s pretty cool. I am happy about my race, I had a good battle with Max, I made a mistake and he tried to pass me, I have some pain on my shoulder from the collision, but I am ok,” Ferrandis said.”It is an amazing feeling, two moto wins. I had an ok start. Jonass crashed in front of me, I hope he is ok. I made my own races and it was good. I had to battle with many good riders in the first moto and the track was slippery. I passed Jeremy and had a good battle with Max, but I had problems with my goggles and he nearly passed me.”

Jeremy Seewer also benefited from Anstie’s crash climbing into second place overall (3-2), the result marking his best for the season.

“I had a good result, my best of the year,” Anstie commented. “I am happy with my second moto start and led for some laps. Happy with second overall and still second in the championship and looking forward to racing in the sand in Lommel. The bike continues to improve.”

Anstie was disappointed with the crash and knows how the result could have changed had he not been so aggressive.

It was still a good race, a nice weekend. I had to try (Ferrandis), and I got a little aggressive with Jeremy also, I didn’t want to ride like that,” Anstie said. “When I went for the pass for the lead I went up the inside of Dylan, because there wasn’t many places to pass, but I went down.”

Despite missing the round with injury Herlings continues to lead the MX2 championship by 127 points to Seewer. Pauls Jonass remains in third after sensationally crashing out of the opening moto and failing to score any points for the round.
