Patrick Evans has added another X Games gold medal to his growing résumé, taking out the Moto X Best Trick event at X Games Sacramento 2026 aboard his Stark VARG electric dirt bike.
Evans landed a massive Nak-Nak No-Hander Frontflip on his opening run, which proved enough to secure the gold medal ahead of Australia’s Ben Richards and Rob Adelberg.
With victory already in the bag, Evans used his second run to throw one of the biggest whips of the night—a nod to the fact he wasn’t invited to defend his 2024 X Games Best Whip title, despite still being the reigning champion.
“Winning another X Games gold means everything, especially in Best Trick against this level of riders. Once I’d landed the run I wanted, I could just enjoy the moment. That second jump was my own little wink to everyone watching. I couldn’t ride Best Whip this year, but I figured I’d throw one anyway, passion will always beat politics.”

The victory marks Evans’ second X Games gold medal, having made history in 2024 by becoming the first rider to win Moto X Best Whip on an electric motorcycle.
Stark Future Chief Marketing Officer Morgan Karlsson praised Evans’ latest achievement.
“Patrick continues to do what he does best. Work hard, show up 100% ready and deliver with style. Winning Best Trick is an incredible achievement, but that second run probably summed him up even better, true to his anti-authority soul. Everyone watching understood exactly what it meant. Since day one, our common goal has always been to line up, compete and let the riding do the talking.”
The Aussies also enjoyed a strong night, with two riders joining Evans on the podium. Ben Richards continued his rise in freestyle motocross with a silver medal after landing his signature Special Flip for a score of 94.66, while veteran Rob Adelberg claimed bronze with a Frontflip Seat Grab Shaolin Barhop. Adelberg’s landing wasn’t as clean as he’d have liked, costing him valuable points and likely any chance of challenging Evans for the win, while an ambitious never-before-done trick attempt also went unrewarded. Even so, it was another impressive result for the Australians, who claimed two of the three podium positions.
