The 2025 Penrite ProMX Championship, presented by AMX Superstores, concluded with a thrilling finale at Queensland Moto Park (QMP), where Kyle Webster defended his Kawasaki MX1 title, and Honda Racing dominated by securing four major championships for the second year running. The event showcased intense battles, dramatic crashes, and standout performances across all classes, cementing the season as one of the most competitive yet.
Kawasaki MX1: Webster’s Title Defence
Kyle Webster (Boost Mobile Honda) entered the final round as the Kawasaki MX1 favourite and delivered under pressure to claim his second consecutive championship. The day began with a fiery AMX Pole Shootout, where KTM Racing Team’s Kirk Gibbs, in his final ProMX appearance, stunned with a 1:49.880 lap to take pole, edging out Honda’s Wilson Todd by 0.2 seconds and Nathan Crawford (KTM Racing Team) in third.

The opening MX1 moto saw chaos on the start straight, with a crash involving Gibbs, Luke Clout (Penrite Racing Empire Kawasaki), and Todd Waters (Raceline Husqvarna TDub Racing). Crawford capitalised, leading from start to finish for his first moto win of 2025. Todd and Webster battled fiercely to secure second and third, followed by Zachary Watson (Triumph) and Aaron Tanti (Monster Energy CDR Yamaha). In the second moto, Todd executed a dramatic last-corner pass on Webster to steal the race and round win, with Levi Rogers (Yamaha) taking a career-best third. Crawford struggled on the rutted track, finishing fourth, ahead of Watson.

Webster’s consistent performance secured the championship with 315 points, followed by Crawford (300) and Todd (264), while Todd, Crawford, and Webster claimed the round podium.
Pirelli MX2: Ferguson’s Breakthrough
Noah Ferguson (KTM Racing Team) ended his season on a high, clinching his first Pirelli MX2 round win. In the opening moto, Ferguson outdueled newly crowned champion Brodie Connolly (Polyflor Honda Racing). Despite Connolly’s holeshot, a mid-race collision saw Ferguson take the lead and win by 10.85 seconds over Ryder Kingsford (Monster Energy Yamalube Yamaha), with Alex Larwood (NFAL Honda) third. Connolly and Byron Dennis (KTM Racing Team) rounded out the top five. Connolly rebounded in moto two, controlling the race after a bold holeshot, with Kingsford and Ferguson following. Dennis and Kaleb Barham (Kawasaki) took fourth and fifth.

Ferguson, Kingsford, and Connolly filled the round podium, while Connolly, who already secured the championship at the penultimate round in Toowoomba, ended the series with 378 points, ahead of Kingsford (329) and Ferguson (304).
MAXXIS MX3: Kingsford’s Dominance
Kayd Kingsford (Honda Racing) continued his MAXXIS MX3 reign, clinching the title with a commanding performance. A clear holeshot in the first moto led to a 15.9-second victory, sealing the championship as rival Jet Alsop (JPM Race Team Honda) struggled to 12th. Koby Hantis (Monster Energy WBR Yamaha) and Jackson Fuller (KTM) took second and third.

Kingsford dominated again in moto two, overtaking Jake Rumens (Husqvarna) early to win by 14.6 seconds. Hantis and Alsop followed, with Fuller and Seth Shackleton (KTM) completing the top five. Kingsford, Hantis, and Fuller stood on the round podium, with Kingsford’s 381 points leading Alsop (316) and Ky Woods (251) in the championship.

EZILIFT MXW: Cannon’s Perfect Season
Charli Cannon (SCT Logistics Honda Racing) capped her fourth EZILIFT MXW championship with a perfect season. In the final moto, she overtook holeshot winner Taylor Thompson (KTM) early, cruising to a 45.4-second victory. Taylah McCutcheon (Penrite Racing Empire Kawasaki) and Thompson followed, with Madi Simpson (Monster Energy WBR Yamaha) and Darci Whalley (KTM) in fourth and fifth. Cannon, McCutcheon, and Thompson claimed both round and championship podiums, with Cannon’s perfect 200 points leading McCutcheon (152) and Thompson (145).

KTM Group MX65 Futures: Black’s Triumph
Archie Black (KTM) secured the KTM Group MX65 Futures title with a steady third in the final race. Mason Ezergailis (KTM) won the moto and round after a late pass on Yamaha’s Kye Sproule, with Black third. Ezergailis, Sproule, and Black took the round podium, while Black led Ezergailis and Ryder Madafiglio in the championship standings.
