Round three of the 2026 Penrite ProMX Championship presented by AMX Superstores delivered another stacked day of racing at Gillman, with defending MX1 champion Kyle Webster taking the overall honours after a hard-fought battle with Jed Beaton.

Webster’s 1-2 scorecard aboard the Honda Racing Australia CRF450R gave him the overall for the day and trimmed Beaton’s championship lead back to 12 points heading into round four at Toowoomba later this month.

Beaton and Webster once again proved to be the class of the field, with Beaton going 3-1 on the day and absolutely checking out in moto two to snap Webster’s Gillman winning streak, which stretched back to 2024.

Behind the leading duo, Wilson Todd and Nathan Crawford rounded out the podium positions, while it was heartbreak for Dean Ferris. Ferris led the opening MX1 moto from the outset aboard the Penrite Racing Empire Kawasaki before a mechanical issue ended his race with just four laps remaining.

FERRIS FIRES EARLY

Ferris wasted no time making his presence felt at Gillman, blasting to the front in moto one and controlling the race while Webster, Beaton and the rest of the field tried to reel him in.

But after 11 laps out front, Ferris’ race came undone, opening the door for Webster to claim his first moto win of the 2026 season and continue his impressive Gillman form.

Todd, Beaton, Aaron Tanti and Crawford followed Webster home in a tight battle, while Beaton set the fastest lap of the day with a 1:52.520.

Regan Duffy crossed the line sixth ahead of Zachary Watson and Liam Jackson.

Moto two returned to the now familiar Webster versus Beaton showdown, with Beaton controlling the race and taking a convincing victory ahead of Webster.

Crawford finished third ahead of Todd, Tanti, Ferris, Duffy and Todd Waters.

After three rounds, Beaton now leads the MX1 standings on 145 points from Webster on 133, with Tanti sitting third ahead of Todd, Waters, Ferris and Watson.

LARWOOD DOMINATES MX2

South Australian local Alex Larwood delivered one of the standout performances of the weekend, sweeping both Pirelli MX2 motos in front of a home crowd.

The Honda Racing Australia rider was untouchable across the day, but championship rival Byron Dennis kept the pressure on with consistent 2-3 finishes to remain firmly in title contention.

Larwood now leads the MX2 championship by 10 points over Dennis, while Kayd Kingsford and Dylan Walsh remain right in the fight.

Larwood led every lap of moto one, while Dennis worked his way into second by lap four. Walsh eventually secured third after a strong battle with Noah Ferguson.

Ryder and Kayd Kingsford finished fifth and sixth ahead of Haruki Yokoyama and Seth Burchell.

Moto two saw Ryder Kingsford throw down an early challenge before Larwood broke clear for another convincing win. Dennis completed another podium finish ahead of Souya Nakajima, who continues to build momentum in his rookie Australian campaign.

FUTURES CLASS DELIVERS AGAIN

The KTM Group MX65 Futures class once again showcased the next generation of talent, with Ryder Madafiglio taking the overall courtesy of 1-2 moto finishes.

Ollie Cale claimed the second moto win after Madafiglio encountered problems early in the race, but Madafiglio’s consistency was enough to secure the overall ahead of Cale and Hudson Francis.

Round four of the 2026 Penrite ProMX Championship heads to Toowoomba, Queensland, on May 24.
