KTM has unveiled its 2027 EXC and EXC-F enduro range, but riders hoping for major technical updates will need to be patient a little longer.

The Austrian manufacturer has confirmed that the 2027 lineup will carry over the same platform introduced in recent years, with the only visible change being updated graphics across the range. While there are no engine, chassis, or suspension revisions for 2027, KTM says the bikes continue to deliver the race-proven performance that has helped the brand remain a dominant force in enduro competition worldwide.

The move is hardly a surprise given the well-publicised financial challenges KTM has faced over the past 18 months. Following a period of restructuring and cost-cutting across the Pierer Mobility Group, development resources have understandably been focused on stabilising the business and streamlining operations.

With that in mind, the decision to roll over the current platform for another model year makes plenty of sense.

The good news for KTM fans is that the current-generation EXC range remains one of the strongest packages on the market. Introduced with significant updates in recent years, the bikes feature KTM’s latest steel frame design, WP XACT suspension, electronic fuel injection across the range, and a host of rider-focused refinements that continue to deliver high performance in everything from technical singletrack to desert racing.

The two-stroke lineup remains headlined by the KTM 300 EXC, which continues to utilise KTM’s Throttle Body Injection (TBI) system. The setup has proven popular with riders looking for smooth power delivery, improved fuel metering, and easier starting compared with previous generations.

On the four-stroke side, the KTM 250 EXC-F remains the entry point into the race-focused lineup, while the ever-popular KTM 350 EXC-F continues to occupy the sweet spot between lightweight handling and strong power. The larger-capacity KTM 450 EXC-F and KTM 500 EXC-F round out the range for riders chasing maximum torque and long-distance performance.

Aside from the updated graphics package, KTM is also highlighting its Premium Manufacturer’s Warranty program in selected markets, along with continued support through its global dealer network, KTM PowerParts and KTM PowerWear ranges.

While some riders may be disappointed by the lack of updates, it’s worth remembering that KTM’s current EXC platform is still relatively fresh compared with many competitors. In a period where the company has been focused on getting its financial house back in order, maintaining a proven package rather than rushing through unnecessary changes is arguably the smarter move.

For those waiting for major updates, you’ll need to wait another 12-months. KTM is resting on “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” for now.

Looking ahead, many industry observers expect KTM’s engineering focus to return to new model development once the company’s restructuring efforts are firmly behind it. If that’s the case, 2028 could shape as the next opportunity for more substantial changes across the orange enduro range.

For now, KTM’s message is simple: if it isn’t broken, don’t fix it.

The 2027 KTM EXC and EXC-F range is expected to arrive in Australian and New Zealand dealerships from September 2026.
