Josep Garcia has once again cemented his place among enduro’s all-time greats, wrapping up the 2026 FIM EnduroGP World Championship and Enduro1 World Championship with a sensational overall victory at round six in Saint-Agrève, France.
The KTM Factory Racing star arrived at the penultimate round with one hand on both titles and left with the job done, securing his third consecutive EnduroGP crown and fourth straight Enduro1 championship with one round still remaining.
Friday night’s Super Test set the tone for the weekend, with Garcia posting the second-fastest time in front of a packed French crowd. He carried that momentum into Saturday, where he was immediately in the fight for the outright win. Although he narrowly missed victory overall, Garcia finished second in EnduroGP while maintaining his perfect Enduro1 record with another class win.
Everything came down to Sunday’s racing, where Garcia and TM MOTO’s Zach Pichon traded fastest times throughout an intense battle. With the overall win and world championship on the line heading into the final test, the Spaniard delivered when it mattered most, edging Pichon by just one second to claim the day’s victory.
The result sealed Garcia’s eighth and ninth world titles, adding another EnduroGP and Enduro1 championship to his already remarkable résumé. It also moves him into equal third on the all-time EnduroGP World Champions list.
Garcia’s 2026 campaign has been nothing short of dominant. He has finished on the overall podium at every race day this season, recording eight outright victories, three runner-up finishes and one third place. Even more impressive is his flawless Enduro1 campaign, winning all 12 class race days contested so far.
“It’s an incredible feeling to leave France as both the 2026 EnduroGP and Enduro1 World Champion,” Garcia said.
“Winning both titles with one round still to go is something I’m really proud of, and taking the overall victory today made it even more special.
“I feel like I’ve taken another big step forward this season, both with my riding and as a racer, and that’s down to all the hard work from everyone around me. I’m incredibly grateful to the whole team for everything they’ve done this year. Now it’s time to enjoy these titles and head to Wales looking to finish the season on a high.”
While Garcia celebrated the championships, teammate Andrea Verona also enjoyed a solid weekend. The Italian finished third overall on Saturday before placing sixth on Sunday, retaining second in the EnduroGP standings while continuing to lead the Enduro2 championship heading into the final round.
The 2026 FIM EnduroGP World Championship concludes on August 7-9 at Rhayader, Wales, where Garcia will look to finish his title-winning season with another strong performance, while Verona chases the Enduro2 crown.
