We’re stoked to share the latest instalment of DA Columnist, Jemma Wilson’s, The Ultimate Unsupported AdventureCrossing the Simpson Desert — now live on the MXstore YouTube channel, and linked below.

This episode follows Jemma Wilson and her dad Ted as they take on one of Australia’s toughest rides: a 5000km journey from Gympie to Broome, unsupported and straight through the heart of the country. The Simpson Desert alone is enough to test anyone, but throw in the endless dunes, brutal heat and remote tracks of the Tanami, and you’ve got a true test of rider, machine and gear.

For Jemma and Ted, this trip has been years in the making. They first planned to tackle it back in 2020, just before lockdowns hit. Fast forward to 2025, with Ted not getting any younger, it turned into a now-or-never mission — a chance for father and daughter to reconnect through their shared love of adventure riding.

MXstore has supported Jemma for years, and with Ride More at the core of everything we do, we were all in for the first leg of this epic journey.

Hit play on the video below and get ready to see what it really takes to cross the Simpson — the hard way.
