Yamaha has taken its adventure twin to the next level with the 2026 Ténéré 700 World Raid, a machine built to go further, more comfortably, and with even greater control across any terrain.
Longer range, lighter tanks
At the heart of the new World Raid is a redesigned dual aluminium fuel tank system. The side-mounted tanks hold a total of 23 litres – the same capacity as before, but now 1.5kg lighter and capable of delivering around 500km of range. Separating the tanks reduces fuel movement for better stability, while the low-mounted pump in the left tank helps centralise mass.
A new one-piece rally-style seat flows neatly into the reshaped tanks, improving ergonomics and making it easier for riders to move around when seated or standing – key for long off-road days.
Comfort meets control
Yamaha has added cruise control (adjustable in 1km/h or 10km/h increments from third gear up), plus a speed limiter to take the stress out of highway travel. A new windscreen and side deflectors improve weather protection, while large removable rubber-mounted footpegs balance long-distance comfort with off-road grip.
Lighting has been upgraded too, with a new LED headlight assembly offering stronger illumination in both high and low beam. The height is now easily adjusted via a single screw under the TFT display.
Off-road ready
True to Yamaha’s rally DNA, the 2026 World Raid gets serious suspension and chassis upgrades. The new 46mm KYB forks feature Kashima coating for reduced friction, full adjustability with a preload dial on top, and optimised damping for better bump absorption. At the rear, a linked KYB Monocross shock offers 5mm more stroke (106mm) and more progressive action, thanks to a revised linkage and lightweight aluminium cylinder.
The 230mm front and 220mm rear travel are both 20mm longer than the standard Ténéré 700, and the bike maintains its 255mm ground clearance. The steel backbone/double-cradle frame and reinforced subframe remain, now strengthened for luggage or top box fitment. A gravity-cast aluminium swingarm keeps things light and rigid.
A new 16-step adjustable steering damper lets riders fine-tune feedback – useful for taming ruts, potholes and crosswinds on big days out.
Rolling gear
The Ténéré 700 World Raid sticks with 21/18-inch spoked aluminium wheels running Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tyres for 50/50 on- and off-road performance. Tyre sizes remain 90/90-21 front and 150/70-18 rear.
Tech and connectivity
Front and centre is a 6.3-inch full-colour TFT display, vertically mounted for easy viewing in both seated and standing positions. Riders can choose between STREET, EXPLORER, and RAID display themes, each showing speed, rpm, fuel, gear position, trip data and more.
The 2026 model also connects directly to your smartphone via the Yamaha MyRide app, enabling calls, messages, music and Google-powered navigation straight from the dash. Control is handled through new joystick-style handlebar switches carried over from the 2025 model, alongside improved cruise and indicator controls. A USB-C port keeps devices charged on the go.
Updated styling
The new Ténéré wears Redline White or Midnight Black, both highlighting the revised LED headlight assembly and sleeker rally silhouette. The overall design has been refined for a more modern, purposeful look while retaining the trademark Ténéré toughness.
Price and arrival
The 2026 Yamaha Ténéré 700 World Raid is due to arrive in Australia from June 2026, priced at $27,349 ride away (inc GST).
Yamaha will also offer more than 60 Genuine Accessories for the new model, including a front guard, skid plate, radiator guard, fog light bracket, side grip pads, and a lowering kit.
