The United States of America is the 2026 FIM Oceania Women’s Motocross Cup champion after dominating from start to finish against Australia and New Zealand in Wonthaggi on March 21-22.
After setting the tone on Saturday, the USA – Lachlan Turner (Yamaha), Mayla Herrick (Honda), Jordan Jarvis (Yamaha) and Jamie Astudillo (GASGAS) – continued to pile on the pressure in Sunday’s two motos as it won the FIM Oceania trophy for the first time after just being pipped at the post by Australia in 2025.

This time, the Americans, led by the blistering speed of Turner, would not be denied, finishing the three-moto event on 35 points ahead of Australia (65 points) and New Zealand (103 points).
After a tough day one when a late mechanical failure saw team captain Charli Cannon (Honda) a non-finisher, Australia overhauled New Zealand on day two – but that was as far as it got with the USA continuing to turn the screws with its superior spread of top 10 finishers.

Turner’s 1-2-1 results were the bedrock of the USA’s victory, and she was brilliantly supported by 16-year-old Herrick (3-3-3), Jarvis (4-4-4) and Astudillo (5-7-6).
For Australian motocross supporters, that’s not the last we’ll see of Turner in 2026 as she will compete in the balance of the ProMX Ezilift MXW Championship – with Aussie powerhouse Cannon firmly in her sights.

Meanwhile, after the disappointment of Saturday’s DNF, Cannon regrouped with 1-2 results on Sunday, while Taylah McCutcheon (Kawasaki, 3-5-5) was again a pillar of FIM Oceania consistency for Australia. Darci Whalley (Honda, 8-6-8) kept her powder dry in a solid rookie performance, while Taylor Thompson’s 7-11-9 scorecard on her KTM was blemished with a crash in moto two, which put her outside the top 10.
Karaitiana Horne (Kawasaki, 6-8-7) was again the standout for New Zealand, joined by Amie Roberts (Yamaha, 9-9-10), Mikayla Griffiths (Yamaha, 10-10-11) and Milla Dahlenburg (KTM, 11-12-12).
