TOBY PRICE TO RACE SUPERUTES WITH MITSUBISHI

PRICE SUPER UTES

Team Triton has announced their Adelaide 500 SuperUte line-up will feature Dakar Rally Champion & Mitsubishi Motors Ambassador Toby Price, who will pilot the #87 Mitsubishi Motors entry.

The announcement follows official pre-season testing earlier this week at Queensland Raceway where one of the two new Team Triton SuperUtes was put through its paces for the first time by Price.

Price said pre-season testing gave him the perfect opportunity to preview the new track-tuned Triton and get a taste of the inaugural SuperUte Series.

“I’m stoked to be a part of the Team Triton SuperUte campaign with the support of Mitsubishi Motors Australia,” he said.

“I’m really looking forward to putting in the work, learning more about circuit racing and having some exciting weekends.

“It’s going to be a good time and I’m aiming to keep it on four wheels and get some good results.”

Price will be competing in all SuperUte events that are non-conflicting with his Rally priorities, and for the events he is unable to complete in Team Triton is looking to fill the seat with another talented driver.

V8 Ute Series front-runner Craig Dontas will also race the #50 SuperUte for Team Triton in the 2018 Series, with his major sponsor and livery to be announced next week.

Team Triton is operating with the backing of Mitsubishi Motors Australia and Sieders Racing, with Mitsubishi supplying Triton utes and parts in a 2 year deal.

“Motorsport has played a central role in Mitsubishi’s heritage and vehicle development so we embraced the opportunity to partner with Sieders Racing in the 2018 SuperUte Series,” said Mitsubishi Australia’s Deputy Director of Sales, Tim Hore.

“SuperUtes is a great way to showcase the Mitsubishi brand and the increasingly popular Australian ute market, with close, competitive racing.

“And with our ambassador Toby Price behind the wheel of a Team Triton racecar at the Adelaide 500, the 2018 SuperUte Series is shaping up to be even more exciting.”

Price’s livery will be released in the lead-up to the Adelaide 500, where the Team Triton SuperUtes will debut under race format on March 1-4.
