Yamaha’s YZ65 Cup is back for 2025, giving the next generation of motocross riders the chance to experience what it feels like to be a factory racer for the day.
Running alongside the Australian Supercross Championship (AUSX), the YZ65 Cup will take place at two major rounds this year:
- Cronulla’s Sharks Stadium – 25 October 2025
- Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium – 22 November 2025
A Factory-Style Experience
More than just a race, the YZ65 Cup is designed to give nine to 12-year-olds and their families an unforgettable taste of Yamaha’s bLU cRU experience. Riders gain unique access to Yamaha’s professional race teams and enjoy the same treatment as factory athletes – from the pits to the track.
“YMA has been providing this unique experience since 2018 and it’s proved super popular for young guns starting out in the sport,” explains YMA Customer Activation Co-ordinator Jake Belford.
“It’s great to see former YZ65 Cup riders achieve success at the top level – such as 85cc World Champion Levi Townley. But no matter where they finish, the YZ65 Cup is about creating memories that last a lifetime.”
Entry Details
Applications are now open, and riders must register their interest by 9 September 2025. Successful applicants will be notified by 30 September 2025.
Key requirements:
- Riders must be aged 9–12 years
- Must hold a current MA or FIM licence
- Must own a Yamaha YZ65 (to be used at the event)
- Entry fee: AUD $850 inc GST – includes Yamaha apparel and merchandise pack
- Riders can apply for both rounds but will compete in a maximum of one event
- Grid numbers are limited
Parents are encouraged to carefully assess their child’s ability to ride comfortably on a modified supercross track, which is tailored for MX-level riders.
