Cameron Dunker produced a perfect weekend at Albury-Wodonga’s Diamond Park, claiming both rounds of the Yamaha Aussie Flat Track Nationals and extending his lead in the Pro 450 championship.
Dunker was dominant under lights in Saturday’s Round 3 on the traditional flat-track layout, taking three of the four races after also securing Superpole. Billy Ryan pushed him hard in the second encounter, while Ronan Jacobs finished runner-up in the final race. Consistent results from Max Whale, including three podium finishes, saw him leave Wodonga 53 points behind Dunker in the championship.
Dunker then backed up on Sunday’s TT circuit, taking the opening three race wins to secure his second round victory of the weekend. Whale saved his best for the final race, getting away quickly and holding off Dunker for the win.
“It was an unreal day for us here again!” Dunker said. “I really wanted the clean sweep and we pushed pretty hard at the end there, but Max got the better of us. We’re now four rounds from four heading to Griffith.”
Fyffe unstoppable in Junior Lites
Local rider Jed Fyffe was equally impressive across the weekend, going unbeaten in Junior Lites and taking a clean sweep of all eight races across Rounds 3 and 4.
With chief rival Neiko Donovan absent, Fyffe extended his championship advantage to a massive 127 points. Tahj Edwards finished runner-up in both rounds, with Lenny Duggan securing third overall on both days.
“It was definitely another good day and great weekend overall,” Fyffe said following Sunday’s racing.
Beard maintains Junior 85 lead
Flynn Beard also enjoyed a highly successful weekend in Junior 85s. He took three wins and a second in Round 3 before backing it up with two wins and two second-place finishes on Sunday.
Cooper Quinn claimed a race win on each day, while Brody Ford also challenged at the front in Round 4. Beard’s consistency keeps him at the top of the championship standings.
The weekend also saw the 2026 Pro Twins season get underway, with John Lytras dominating the class on a Suzuki SV-650, winning all four races. The 65 Trackers returned for Sunday’s TT racing, where AFTN debutant Oscar Ryan took the round win.
In the All Powers Over 35s, David Smith and Neil Girdler shared the round victories, with Girdler taking Sunday’s honours after winning three races and moving to the top of the championship.
The Yamaha Aussie Flat Track Nationals now head to Griffith for the next round, with Dunker arriving as the clear Pro 450 championship leader after four wins from four rounds.
