Leatt has introduced its all-new 2027 5.5 Racewear range, designed as a complete performance system for motocross riders seeking improved mobility, ventilation, durability, and bike control.

Developed through extensive testing, athlete feedback, and development work, the new 5.5 Racewear is designed to minimise distractions while keeping riders comfortable and unrestricted on the bike.

A major feature of the new range is Leatt’s HeatGrip™ technology, which debuts in the latest 5.5 I.K.S. pants.

HeatGrip™ replaces traditional leather inner-knee panels with a new material designed to provide increased grip and durability in both wet and dry conditions. The material combines Leatt’s abrasion- and cut-resistant Deflextion fabric with a durable, heatproof coating.

Unlike leather, HeatGrip™ is machine washable and requires no special maintenance. Leatt also claims the material resists drying, cracking, and general deterioration, while delivering greater grip than leather.

The knee panels are reinforced with 100 per cent aramid material for improved resistance to wear from knee braces. The pants also use Bluesign® materials, contributing to a lighter and longer-lasting construction.

Mobility and ventilation

The 2027 5.5 jersey and pants feature a streamlined, multi-panel construction to reduce unnecessary bulk and improve freedom of movement.

Stretch materials are strategically placed around the garment, while the reduced number of seams lets the racewear follow the rider’s natural position on the bike.

Ventilation is also a major focus, with lightweight performance fabrics, mesh construction, and strategically positioned laser-cut ventilation designed to improve airflow and help regulate body temperature.
