Beta has expanded its popular XTrainer enduro range for MY27 with the introduction of the all-new XTrainer 200 2T, joining the established XTrainer 300 2T and broadening the appeal of the Italian brand’s user-friendly enduro platform.

Long regarded as one of the most approachable enduro motorcycles on the market, the XTrainer range has built a loyal following thanks to its combination of lightweight handling, lower seat height and genuine off-road capability. For MY27, Beta has taken that concept a step further with a new 200cc two-stroke model aimed at riders transitioning into enduro, as well as experienced riders seeking a lighter and more agile machine for technical terrain.

New 200cc Engine Focuses on Rideability

The headline addition for MY27 is the XTrainer 200 2T, powered by an all-new dedicated 200cc two-stroke engine developed specifically for the XTrainer platform.

Rather than chasing peak horsepower figures, Beta has focused on delivering strong low-end torque, smooth power delivery and easy control in challenging conditions. The result is an engine designed to maintain traction and momentum through tight single trail, rocky climbs, rutted tracks and hard enduro-style terrain.

The new engine features revised exhaust and transfer port design to improve low-rpm performance, while a dedicated cylinder head with optimised combustion chamber geometry enhances efficiency and response through the low and mid-range. A new dome-profile piston works in conjunction with the revised porting and cylinder head to improve combustion efficiency and increase torque at lower engine speeds.

Beta has also revised the exhaust valve timing and developed dedicated ignition mapping to suit the engine’s torque-focused character, delivering a controlled throttle response and predictable power delivery.

Completing the package is a model-specific exhaust system and intake boot designed to maximise low-end performance, along with reduced-load clutch springs that lower lever effort and improve control during technical riding.

Dedicated Chassis Configuration

To complement the new engine, Beta has developed a dedicated frame layout for the XTrainer 200 2T while retaining the proven geometry and easy-handling characteristics of the larger-capacity model.

The bike runs a 140/80 rear tyre mounted on an 18 x 1.85-inch rear rim, a combination selected to balance traction, steering precision and agility. With a dry weight of just 97.5kg and a low 910mm seat height, the 200 2T is designed to inspire confidence for younger riders, smaller-stature riders and anyone looking for a more manageable enduro machine.

Like the rest of the XTrainer family, the new 200 2T retains electric start and electronic oil injection, eliminating the need for premixing fuel while enhancing everyday usability.

Updates Across the MY27 Range

Alongside the introduction of the 200 2T, both XTrainer models receive a series of updates for MY27.

A new LED headlight and redesigned headlight shroud give the bikes a more modern appearance while improving visibility. Updated plastics and graphics introduce a fresh red colour scheme, complemented by a black-painted frame for the first time in XTrainer history.

Beta has also strengthened the chain guide and redesigned the front sprocket guard for improved durability and protection in demanding off-road conditions.

The Nissin braking package remains, featuring a 260mm front disc and 240mm rear disc. For MY27, the rear brake now incorporates a new solid wave-profile disc designed to deliver a more progressive feel during technical riding and steep descents.

Proven XTrainer Formula Continues

The MY27 XTrainer range continues to focus on rider confidence and ease of use, with features including:

  • Lightweight enduro-focused chassis
  • Seat height 20mm lower than Beta’s RR X-PRO range
  • R16V suspension package
