Ryan Dungey - Red Bull KTM rode well but another poor start hurt his chances at the Detroit Monster Energy Supercross.

During the Main Event of the St Louis AMA Supercross, Chad Reed was caught by second place rider Ryan Dungey to be put a lap down. He was unable to clear Chad for around 2 laps, resulting in an extremely frustrated Dungey losing time to eventual winner Eli Tomac.

“We were winding him down, catching Eli and putting good laps I was happy with it. I dunno, I don’t want to go too crazy on the topic, but it’s not ideal. I think everyone saw it, I mean Eli gets around quick and easy, then three laps go by and he’s in the groove and in the line. Like Marvin said, it’s hard to pass and its almost like if you’re a lapper you gotta move over. I don’t know why he’s gotta get involved in me and Eli’s position. If he’s on the same lap I understand, I mean we all would. But he’s a lapper and it’s just unfortunate, but what do you do.”
