MONSTER ENERGY AUS-X OPEN SET FOR 2018

Aus X Open

Arguably the best race on the Australian motocross and supercross calendar, the Monster Energy Aus-X Open is back in 2018. The event is set to blow the roof off the Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney, with a new triple-crown Supercross race format scheduled for November 10.

With more extreme motorsport and racing than ever before, fans are urged to arrange travel now and sign-up to the presale list, with the newly formatted triple-crown Saturday night, sure to sell-out.

Since its inception in 2015 the AUS-X Open Sydney has hosted a star-studded lineup of riders including 2-time World Champion – Chad Reed (AUS-X Open Champion 2015, 2016), current World No. 1 – Jason Anderson (AUS-X Open Champion 2017), the Greatest of All-Time – Ricky Carmichael, 4-time World Champion – Ryan Villopoto, stuntman extraordinaire Robbie Maddison and not to forget the two-stroke tyrant himself – Ronnie Mac.

Organisers are keeping this year’s lineup tight-lipped but Event Co-Founder and Director – Adam Bailey, claims this year’s racing will be more intense than ever before.

“Every year we’ve ensured the Monster Energy AUS-X Open Sydney evolves as a greater spectacle for our fans and this year’s no different as we’re planning to bring more energy and more excitement to the event than ever before,” Bailey stated.

“We’ll be bringing in the world’s best riders to take on Australia’s best and will be tweaking the track layout again to guarantee some of the most epic racing on the planet, right here in Sydney.

“We’ve drastically changed the racing format, to make Saturday’s racing the most jam-packed and full of action, than ever before. In a ‘Triple Header’ format, fans will see the best in the world, battle bar to bar, three times rather than the previous one ‘Main Event’ only format. It’s literally three times the high-intensity racing action, jammed into Saturday’s program.

In 2017, over 27,000 people from around Australia and overseas, packed the stands across two days in Sydney to see current World Championship leader Jason Anderson become the first American to claim the AUS-X Open Champion crown. The event also reached over 70 million fans worldwide through AUS-X Open produced content showcased on both social and traditional media platforms.

As it did in 2017, global energy drink giant Monster Energy is also back on board as Naming Rights Partner for 2018, and are set to add even more excitement than ever before.

2018 will feature pyrotechnics, light and sound and first-class entertainment values, all indoors in the comfort of Qudos Bank Arena; with a pit paddock area accessible on the outside of the arena for all motorsport fans to get up close and personal with their favourite teams and riders.

“We’re well underway with plans to not only secure an incredible lineup of riders but have a whole host of announcements that will shock and amaze fans. There’s nowhere you’d rather be than in Sydney, on November 10!” Bailey added.

Further announcements regarding the athlete lineup, a revitalised racing schedule and more are still to come. Signing up for the pre-sale ensures first preference of ALL seating for the 2018 AUS-X Open.
