Bopping had made a bumper start to 2016, making an impact over at the AMA Monster Energy Supercross Championship before heading back down under for the Motul MX Nationals. Despite making five of six mains while over in the States, Bopping’s form could not continue in Australia due to ongoing health issues.

Bopping has already set his sights on a return for the DPH Motorsport team at the Australian Supercross Championship.

It’s a bummer, but I can’t do much about it,” said Bopping. “I’d like to thank all my sponsors and I’ll be back when I’m healthy again.”

21 year old privateer Jacob Wright will take up Bopping’s place after riding a KTM in the opening rounds. It has been a very disruptive series for Wright who was originally down to ride for SD3 Husqvarna before parting ways in pre season.

“I’d like to thank Dale [Hocking] and the whole DPH Motorsports team for the opportunity,” Wright said. “It’s great to be back on a great bike and team and I can’t wait to see what the rest of the season holds.”
