This year’s Supercross championship will see a total of six events spanning four states. The spectacle will be held from October through till December. The whopping prize pool will be divided per round results and overall championship standings.

SX1, SX2 and SXD class riders will all be in with a shot at the prize money, while a specific sum will also be paid to the top finishing Privateer riders in the SX1 and SX2 overall standings.

The prize money pool certainly has many riders, teams and the industry talking, and in a positive way,” enthuses 2015 Australian Supercross Championship series co-ordinator, Mark Luksich.

We have changed the business model of Supercross so that we can do many things, including offering more prize money. Currently team riders’ income is derived mainly from sign-on and bonuses based on events and championships, as there is little prize money on offer.

We have raised the purse and broken down the prize money to reward the privateer as well as the pro riders. In fact, every rider that makes the SX1 or SX2 final at each round will be taking home some dollars.

I see this as a positive step towards building depth in the sport of Supercross,” explains Luksich.

The mammoth kitty comes thanks to the commitment of the 2015 Australian Supercross Championship event promoters, sponsor partners and Motorcycling Australia.

Following is a breakdown of the 2015 Australian Supercross Championship prize money structure:
