  • Budds Creek is part of a multi-functional motorsports facility that features a world-class motocross track, a 3/8th mile clay oval, and drag strip all on the same property. It sits just one hour from Capital Hill in Washington, D.C.
    • Budds Creek enters its 26th year in the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship and boasts a unique mix of sand and clay, multiple elevation changes, several off-camber corners, and a wide array challenging obstacles in a truly dynamic layout.
    • The 2007 Motocross of Nations cemented Budds Creek’s status as one of the world’s premier motocross tracks. It was the second U.S. facility to host the biggest professional motocross race on the planet.
    • Six different riders across both the 450 Class and 250 Class have posted three-year winning streaks Budds Creek – Blake Baggett, Ricky Carmichael, Ryan Dungey, Steve Lamson, James Stewart, and Ryan Villopoto.

  • The first 450 Class race held at Budds Creek was May 22, 1994. Mike LaRocco won on a Kawasaki en route to winning the title.
    • This will be the 23rd time the gate will drop for a 450 Class race at Budds Creek.
    • Ricky Carmichael compiled a perfect record at Budds Creek. He won all eight of his 450 Class starts, taking the checkered flag in 13 of 16 motos.
    • Ryan Dungey is the only other 450 Class rider with more than two wins at Budds Creek, claiming victory for four of the last six years, including three straight from ‘12-‘14. He never won in the

250 Class.

  • Chad Reed is the only international rider to ever win a 450 Class overall at Budds Creek.
    • Last season Justin Barcia became just the second rider in Pro Motocross history to earn his first career 450 Class win at Budds Creek, joining Ezra Lusk.
    • Florida residents have won the last 16 seasons in the 450 Class at Budds Creek – Ricky Carmichael (‘00-‘07), James Stewart (‘08), Chad Reed (‘09 & ‘11), Ryan Dungey (‘10, ‘12-‘14), and Justin Barcia (‘15).
    • There have only been 10 different winners in 22 seasons of 450 Class competition at Budds Creek.

  • The first 250 Class race held at Budds Creek was October 8, 1989. Mike Kiedrowski won on a Honda en route to winning the title.
    • This will be the 27th time the gate will drop for a 250 Class race at Budds Creek. There have been four more 250 Class races than 450 Class races at the facility.
    • Last season Marvin Musquin became just the fourth different international winner in the 250 Class at Budds Creek. There have been three international winners over the last six seasons – Musquin (‘15), Tyla Rattray (‘11), and Dean Wilson (‘10).
    • Kawasaki took the 250 Class win for nine straight seasons at Budds Creek from ‘06-‘14 and has won 13 of the last 15 races at the track.
    • Budds Creek is the most successful track for Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki, which has claimed 12 overall victories.
